I’ve played the guitar for some 25 years now, during which time many instruments, amps and effects have passed through my hands. Guitars are a passion of mine and this blog seems like the ideal method for me to let loose my thoughts and opinions on all that is six-string!

I currently play guitar in Heroes of Switzerland, however I’ve played in a variety of bands ranging from icy post punk via old school Metal to World Music and beyond.

Guitarwise my main squeezes are currently a Fender J-Craft ‘Richie Kotzen’ signature series Telecaser and a 1983 Yamaha SG1000. Although I’ve either borrowed, played or owned most other solid bodied electrics at some point or another. Ampwise its been largely Marshall with various set ups over the years, Combo’s, Rack’s, Stack’s etc.

Gigwise I’ve toured the UK toilet circuit off and on since my 20’s, so my opinions are based on what works out in the field as it were. This site is pretty independant from manafacturers so I’m proud to tell you the truth, unlike some magazines I won’t mention. If I review a guitar its because I went in a shop and spent an hour with it, or someone loaned me a pedal for a day.

Unlike some of the UK’s esteemed guitar magazine writers I don’t do PR for a guitar company on the side or have advertisers I’m too scared to offend by telling the truth….not directing that at anyone, but theres a serious gulf in the quality of UK guitar journalism at the moment and this site covers that gap
